Epiphany School is a non-sectarian, independent, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school located in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The school is committed to innovative teaching in a traditional setting and challenges students to be confident, curious, and courageous learners. With over 230 students, Epiphany is large enough to offer a broad spectrum of educational opportunities and small enough to do so while maintaining a close-knit community that is much like an extended family.

Fifth Grade Classroom Teacher

Epiphany School is currently seeking a Fifth Grade Classroom Teacher for the 2017/18 school year. What you will enjoy about this role:

  • Planning, teaching, and assessing academic and social-emotional curricula in collaboration with grade level partner, specialist teachers, and the academic administration.
  • Assessing student learning and growth through culminating projects and use of formal and informal assessment tools and progress reports and communicating results to families and administrators.

What you must have:

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field, as well as a teaching certificate.
  • Five years of elementary or middle school classroom teaching experience.
  • Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice.
  • Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.
  • Computer savvy in Windows environment, including MS Office.
  • Must be smart, warm, motivated, organized, and process-oriented.

Lower Elementary Division Head

Epiphany School is currently seeking a Lower School Division for the 2017/18 school year and beyond. The Lower Elementary Division Head is responsible for oversight of all curricular and non-curricular activities involving students and faculty in the lower elementary division. In this role, you would act as the educational leader of the division, and be responsible for its operations, direct the activities of the instructional and non-instructional staff in performance of their duties.  The Lower Elementary Division Head will collaborate with the Upper Elementary Division Head and Head of School, as the academic management team, in fulfilling the mission of the school.   • In collaboration with academic management, faculty, and staff, establish the academic programs, social emotional curriculum, and the academic schedule.
  • Actively promote teachers’ professional growth; support and mentor teachers in meeting their professional goals.
  • Communicating – formally and informally – the division’s programs, expectations, behavioral guidelines, and other information to faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Reviewing student assessments, progress reports, and student achievement data to understand the status and progress of student achievement.
  • Meeting with families individually regarding student progress and behaviors.
  • Observing, supervising, and evaluating the lower elementary faculty in development and implementation of curriculum that aligns with the school’s scope and sequence.
  • In collaboration with academic management team, identify and plan faculty meetings, in-service days, and other teacher training needs.

What you must have:

  • Advanced degree in education, curriculum and instruction, administration, or related field

  • Proven success at working collaboratively in educational leadership
  • Dynamic instructional leader with a solid understanding of the developmental and curricular needs of PreKindergarten through Second Grade students
  • Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
  • Must be empathetic, motivated, organized, strategic, and process-oriented.
  • Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.

Math Specialist

Epiphany School is currently seeking a math specialist for the 2017/18 school year. The math specialist is one of two math teachers responsible for collaborating with classroom teachers to plan and deliver math instruction to students in grades PreK through 5. Specific duties include teaching and supervising students, assessing and evaluating students, and communicating with teachers, other specialists, academic administration, and families. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of mathematics education, especially the development of students as mathematical thinkers. What you will enjoy about this role:

  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and academic administration to implement effective mathematics instruction.
  • Teaching students directly as a co-teacher in one or more grade levels and working with groups of students to provide enrichment or support services.
  • Advocating for and supporting all students with mathematics instruction and learning experiences that are engaging, differentiated, fully participatory, and employ current technology.
  • Engaging professional, community, technology, and other resources to improve mathematics teaching and learning.
  • Administering assessments to evaluate learners’ knowledge and understanding; utilizing assessment data to inform teaching practice and provide differentiated instruction.
