Epiphany School is a non-sectarian, independent, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school located in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The school is committed to innovative teaching in a traditional setting and challenges students to be confident, curious, and courageous learners. With 240 students, Epiphany is large enough to offer a broad spectrum of educational opportunities and small enough to do so while maintaining a close-knit community that is much like an extended family.

Intermediate Classroom Teacher

Epiphany School is currently seeking an Intermediate Classroom Teacher for the 2017/18 school year. What you will enjoy about this role:

  • Planning, teaching, and assessing academic and social-emotional curricula in collaboration with grade level partner, specialist teachers, and the academic administration.
  • Assessing student learning and growth through culminating projects and use of formal and informal assessment tools and progress reports and communicating results to families and administrators.
  • Effectively using technology to maximize student learning.
  • Planning, organizing, and attending curricula-based field trips, including multi-night trips if applicable.
  • Communicating weekly with families using the school’s designated communication tools.

What you must have:

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field, as well as a teaching certificate.
  • Five years of elementary classroom teaching experience.
  • Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice.
  • Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.
  • Computer savvy in Windows environment, including MS Office.
  • Must be smart, warm, motivated, organized, and process-oriented.

Math Instructional Coach  

Epiphany School is currently seeking a math instructional coach for the 2017/18 school year. The math instructional coach will lead, oversee, and support the teaching and learning of math from PreK through Grade 5. In conjunction with the Head of School and academic administration, the coach will work with faculty to ensure that all students are challenged and successful learners of mathematics. He/she will also be responsible for educating and engaging families about the math program. The coach must have a thorough understanding of mathematics education, experience developing and implementing instructional strategies to improve student learning, and the ability to encourage and inspire teachers to improve their practices.   • Observing the teaching and learning of math at every grade level; providing supportive feedback to teachers and specialists who teach math.
  • Coaching and inspiring teachers to enhance and improve their math teaching practices.

  • A minimum of five years of classroom experience, developing and implementing instructional strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience with the integration of technology in the teaching practice.
  • Experience in instructional coaching (math coaching preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience with Math In Focus curriculum preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.

Math Specialist

Epiphany School is currently seeking a math specialist for the 2017/18 school year. The math specialist is one of two math teachers responsible for collaborating with classroom teachers to plan and deliver math instruction to students in grades PreK through 5. Specific duties include teaching and supervising students, assessing and evaluating students, and communicating with teachers, other specialists, academic administration, and families. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of mathematics education, especially the development of students as mathematical thinkers.   • Collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and academic administration to implement effective mathematics instruction.
  • Teaching students directly as a co-teacher in one or more grade levels and working with groups of students to provide enrichment or support services.
  • Advocating for and supporting all students with mathematics instruction and learning experiences that are engaging, differentiated, fully participatory, and employ current technology.
  • Engaging professional, community, technology, and other resources to improve mathematics teaching and learning.
